About me

Here is my CV (resume) if you're interested.

Okay, you asked for it, now you're gonna get loads of boring biographical information...

I was born in Basildon in 1980, and have lived in Wickford (near Basildon) before I came to Aberystwyth to pursue my degree. In my free time I like to do some archery, sailing, walking and reading books - mostly of the sci-fi and fantasy varieties.

I have completed a MEng (Hons) Software Engineering at The University of Wales, Aberystwyth, and achieved a first. I did study maths, but I started worrying as soon it became apparent that integration by parts was used as many as ten times per question. I understandably decided to stick to what I'm good at and program computers, although I regard mathematics as a quite elegant subject and often use some concepts and disciplines borrowed from mathematics in my approach to software development.

I'm not overly fond of cities - which is partly why I chose to study at Aberystwyth. The landscape around Aberystwyth is in my opinion an area of great natural beauty and offers many country walks, and walking is something I like to do to take time out.
